Neighbourhood Artist’s Mural

Kitchener, ON

July 20, 2016

Our local Dulux Paints store provided the paint and other assistance to help local artist Pamela Rojas transform this plain wall into an artful, neighbourhood masterpiece of a mural at Regina Street and University Avenue in Kitchener, ON.

To make this neighbourhood improvement a reality, the project leveraged the Neighbourhood Matching Funds Grant (NMFG), designed to help support community and grass roots groups make positive change in Kitchener.

The NMFG is a one-time grant provided in partnership with the United Way of Kitchener Waterloo and Area that provides support to people who want to make positive change in their neighbourhood. Matching funds, between $500 and $5,000, are awarded to applicants who invest in their community. Investment in neighbourhoods can be demonstrated through volunteer time, in-kind resources and services as well as financially. A maximum of $20,000 is available per year.
